Dr. Radha Tamerisa
Dr. Radha Tamerisa is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist who has been practicing in Katy, TX, for the last 13 years. After finishing her training, she has chosen to settled down in her home town where she proudly serve the needs of her community.
She received her Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training from UTMB in Galveston. Throughout her career, she has felt the need to incorporate nutrition and lifestyle to optimize the health of her patients. In search of providing integrative gastroenterology care, she has attended various courses offered by the Institute of Functional Medicine. This approach has transformed her practice and allowed her to offer her patients a broader range of therapeutic options.
Dr. Tamerisa understands that no two patients are identical. She states, “It is vitally important to understand the root cause of illness and to customize care to suit the individual. It is not enough to write a prescription for every complaint. We need to to explore deeper and offer more comprehensive solutions for healing the mind, body and gut.”
Dr. Vivian Asamoah
Dr. Asamoah, or Dr. V, as she is affectionately called, strives to deliver the best quality of care to those who entrusts her with their health. Her patients’ ability to achieve optimal gut health defines her success as a practitioner.
She received her medical degree from the University of Geneva, in Switzerland. Subsequently, she finished a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore MD. She is dual board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
Dr. Asamoah has learned and practiced the art of medicine in diverse communities, ranging from the Swiss Alps, rural towns in Johannesburg South Africa, to inner city Baltimore. A high level of training from different parts of the globe allows her to merge cutting-edge scientific conventional medicine with integrative approaches focused on healthy nutrition and natural, evidence-based healing methods for superior results.
Through life’s experiences, Dr. V has been both a patient and a caregiver. She truly understands the needs of each role and the importance of being heard. She believes that a collaborative, respectful patient-doctor interaction fosters the utmost health outcomes.
Her vision to treat patients not as disease entities, but with all-encompassing strategies that seek to make lives better, has led to her partnership in Zazen Medical Group where the comprehensive modalities of Functional Medicine are harnessed to augment proven orthodox medicine.
Dr. V lives and serves her community in the Katy/West Houston area of Houston.
